CHRISTMAS EVE

A poem
Title: Eve

The cold breeze of Christmas
Clover around our minds
The cold breeze of Christmas
Running through our spines
We so eager and ready
Waiting upon the next day
All through the dusk we merry
Till the day we pray comes may

Oh Santa we wait
Cometh not still be stay
Wait patiently at the gate
Hoping the bills requested be paid
Not to commemorate
With the pains we felt this year
Whither Santa comes late
We hope the package be fair

All during the Christmas eve
Joyous smell be sensed
As if we ought believe
The night be meant to Spense
Going to our neighbour’s
Dancing pots with jumping chickens
Not afraid to harbour
Enough guests in their kitchens

All streets passed me
Burning candles at sight
Whither power be still
The night still remains bright
The young busy with fireworks
The old scared not to get burn
Whither they invoke their wraths
We know it did be for fun

Children making plans
The night of the Christmas eve
The neighbour they did pounce
And expect little tips
The night before Christmas
Is the Christmas eve
Oh ye Christmas
Please do wait for me
